Led a team of 13 developers. Designed architecture, integrated taxi module, maps, real-time driver tracking

Overview

Code Brew Labs' core multi-vertical super-app product — a shared codebase letting businesses stand up e-commerce, taxi, food delivery, car rental, on-demand services, and P2P payments as one platform.

My Role

Team Lead — 13 React Native developers.

Problem

Each new vertical (taxi, food, rentals...) risked becoming its own codebase and its own team silo, multiplying maintenance cost and fragmenting the product experience.

Solution

A multi-module architecture where verticals share a common core (auth, payments, navigation shell) while owning their own feature logic — then led the team building it, including the taxi module: real-time driver tracking and maps integration.

Business Impact

Lets Code Brew Labs offer clients a multi-vertical product (taxi + food + e-commerce + rentals + on-demand) from one shared codebase instead of quoting a separate build per vertical.

Engineering Challenges

Splitting one React Native codebase across 13 engineers without merge chaos or feature coupling — required real module boundaries and task allocation by developer strength, not just by ticket — plus getting real-time driver-location updates to feel instant without draining battery or overloading the maps SDK.

My Contributions

  • Multi-module architecture design
  • Task allocation across 13 engineers
  • Hands-on build of taxi booking, maps, and real-time tracking
  • Ongoing performance and code-quality reviews

Why This Is Technically Impressive

This is the actual evidence a Team Lead req screens for — not "has managed people" but "kept a 13-person codebase coherent while shipping five product verticals in parallel." That's an engineering-management problem, not just a people-management one.
