Solo Developer : Rebuilt the native iOS/Android app from scratch in React Native, owned architecture decisions, and delivered the project onsite in UAE
Overview
RedTag's e-commerce app was originally two separate native apps — iOS and Android built independently. The client wanted to migrate to React Native to unify the codebase and speed up feature delivery across both platforms. I rebuilt it from scratch, and it now serves millions of customers buying clothing, shoes, and homeware across the Gulf.
My Role
Solo Developer — owned the native-to-React-Native migration end-to-end: architecture decisions, tech stack, and full implementation, delivered onsite in the UAE.
Problem
Two separate native codebases meant every feature had to be built twice, by two different skill sets, on two different release cadences. The client wanted one team and one codebase without losing feature parity or stability during the switch.
Solution
Rebuilt the customer app from scratch in React Native — architecture, navigation, state management, and every screen (catalog, cart, checkout, offers, wishlist, account) as a single cross-platform codebase. Integrated Google Analytics, MoEngage, and AppsFlyer so the marketing team could track the full user journey, and built out push and in-app notification systems.

4.5M+ app users, 40-50K daily active users during seasonal peaks, 99.99% crash-free rate, and 16% growth in sales — while cutting the team from maintaining two native codebases down to one.
Engineering Challenges
Rebuilding a live app already used by millions without a regression the business would notice, while standing up three separate analytics SDKs (GA, MoEngage, AppsFlyer) so marketing had one consistent view of the user journey instead of three disconnected data sources. I also keep the app current on every React Native release — it's running on 0.86.2 with the New Architecture enabled, which took its own migration effort on top of the original rebuild.

Why This Is Technically Impressive
Most React Native case studies describe adding features to an existing app. This one is a from-scratch migration of a live, multi-million-user native app to React Native, with the same engineer owning architecture, the rebuild, and the analytics layer the business runs on — and staying current through New Architecture adoption on top of that, which most production React Native apps still haven't done.
